Not in my neighborhood!

This past weekend was INSANE. Needless to say, I’m happy to be back. Once I get my pictures uploaded, I’ll do a post about Oktoberfest in La Crosse, WI.

So, this morning, as I’m checking my AOL account, I notice I have an e-mail with the heading “More Crime Alerts” from my neighborhood liaison. Lovely. I proceed to open the aforementioned e-mail, which includes a breakdown of 7+ robberies that have taken place in my neighborhood during the past couple of weeks. These aren’t your average robberies. They involve handguns. Yep, handguns. It’s not like I live in the hood, so I’m kind of in shock that this stuff is happening. Last week, J installed several motion detector lights throughout the premises. The house itself is pretty secure, but to ensure maximum security, J and I will be going to home depot tonight to buy more locks. I wish I could just put up a sign that says “Don’t mess with my house, or ELSE…"

This may be the perfect time/excuse to buy a dog for protection...perhaps a labradoodle?
