Tuesday, dreaming of Friday

Today is my parent’s 30th wedding anniversary! What a milestone =) I’m so proud of them and it’s cool to know that people can actually be happily married for longer than two-minutes. The divorce rate in the United States is depressing, so for two people to make it 30 years is VERY impressive. My parents are awesome and they have a great relationship. They exemplify what I want to have. My sisters and I are cooking up a surprise dinner (catered) and a limo ride to celebrate this achievement. It’s not for a couple of weeks, so I’ll share more details as the date approaches.

I so which it was Friday! I’m taking Friday off, so that always makes the work week fly by. I probably shouldn’t take Friday off because of how much work I have on my desk, but I need a day off. I was looking at the work calendar, and our next Company day off isn’t until…Thanksgiving. How depressing is that?

Speaking of depressing, I haven’t been on a plane since last April and I’m totally in the market for a vacation, one in which you need to take a plane, far, far away. After buying the house, I kissed my sporadic traveling and shopping excursions goodbye. I’m what one would call “house poor.” I miss the traveling and shopping, but I LOVE my house and don’t regret my decision to buy a home.

Anyway, back to reality. It’s only Tuesday.

I’m heading down to Illinois on Friday to reunite with J. I haven’t seen him since last Thursday and I totally miss him. He’s on his annual Harley trip. Not my idea of a “vacation” but he LOVES his Harley. He may love it more than me (haha just kidding)! Anyway, I’m excited to head back down to IL and hang out with him and his family. I think we’re playing softball and going on a pub-crawl on Saturday! FUN!!

I’m also excited for the ride down. I was talking to my friends Lisa and Linds (L&L) and they’re going to IL this weekend too, to visit family. I’ll probably hitch a ride with them and ride back with J. I’m excited to drive down with the girls because we can discuss Oktoberfest, which is only a couple weeks away...more details to follow on the event that is Oktoberfest at a later date.
