So there’s a bit on the top 40 radio station in Minneapolis called War of the Roses. The premise is that some girl (or guy) calls in and asks the radio dj to call their significant other and asks them to participate in a 30 second survey. Upon completion of the survey, they can send a dozen red roses to anyone. 90% of the time, the person taking the survey sends the roses to someone that it not their girlfriend/boyfriend. Basically it’s like that show cheaters, but on the radio.
I listened to it this morning, and the guy taking the survey actually sent the roses to his wife, who moments before, suspected him of cheating. Call me stupid, but I don’t know how you can go from saying “I think he’s cheating on me” to saying “I love you” in the span of 5-minutes.
War of the roses is very entertaining to listen to; however, if you think about it, it’s actually quite sad. I’ve dated guys before that have cheated on me. In fact, before J, I was in a bad relationship with someone that cheated on me a lot. I finally wised up and ended it and kicked the loser to the curb. I hope that these woman who call in for war of the roses wise up, get some self-esteem and dump their cheating spouses/boyfriends to the curb. I’m glad I did, because I met J the LOML =)
