Okay, let me start off my saying Oktoberfest is INSANE. In La Crosse, it’s a two week celebration. Sadly, I’m not German, so I don’t know exactly what it celebrates.
For the past four years, L, L & I have made the jaunt down to La Crosse, Wisconsin. It’s about 2 hours from the twin cities, so not too bad of a drive. This year, we had two additional people (another two L&L's) come with us! We left on a Friday afternoon and our first stop was a bar at the top of a bluff for some beer and cheesecurds (mid-west staples). Next we go to the hotel, unpack and get ready for dinner. This year we decided to save money so we brought down tons of our own food to snack on in the hotel. Anyway, long story short, Friday until about 2 a.m. on Sunday morning is basically spent drinking, walking in parades and going to the festival grounds. We drank Bloody Mary’s, ate pizza and oh, L won a goldfish! It’s insane, and the crazy part is that it’s not just a bunch of college kids. The entire city of La Crosse enjoys the festivities of Oktoberfest.
I’ve posted a couple of pictures from the weekend. We had a great time; however, on Sunday morning, I just wanted to get home and see J. Sappy I know, but being out at the bars and just being in that type of scene really makes me thank my lucky stars that I’m with him.

My mom went to Oktoberfest this past weekend with some ladies with her church - they had no idea about all the beer drinking. She said, in her own words, "Gracious me, there was so much beer drinking going on!" I was like, mom. Seriously???? haha!
