After moving into a new neighborhood (last June), I knew that I’d have to expand my horizons and try new bars, restaurants, bakeries, shops, etc. J and I both have friends that live in my neighborhood, so during the initial months in the new hood, both of us were inundating our friends with questions on where to eat, which dry cleaner to use, etc. I’m sure our constant questioning was quite an annoyance for these folks.
I’m happy to report that our inquiries have all but become extinct, thanks to the existence of yelp.
Anyway, yelp is a great site that offers reviews from pretty much everyone and anyone. There are reviews for restaurants, shopping, nightlife, entertainment, hair salons, etc. From what I’ve read and experienced, it’s brutally honest and right on point. In fact, I’ve created a profile and have become a yelp reviewer too!

oh, and to do the link thing:
when you're typing your post, highlight the words you want to be linked and then click on the little icon that looks like a chain link in the toolbar. then copy and paste the url/site address to the appropriate spot. it should work.
