If the president elect’s kids are getting a new puppy, I should get one too, right? Plus, I finally own my own home and don’t need to adhere to any pet regulations----or do I?
While J and I get along quite well, we do have some discrepancies. Here’s a list that I’ve compiled thus far:
1. Music. I listen to top 40 pop and he listens to old rock and some country. He hates when I drive because when we’re in my car, we listen to Britney, Rhianna, Dido or Coldplay. When we’re in his car we listen to Van Morrison or some crazy rock station. I must admit I’m really starting to like some of Van’s songs.
2. Clothing. My basic uniform on the weekends includes a pair of Jeans (usually 7’s), Sweater, Boots and either a cute jacket, or, one of my North Face jackets/vests. On the other end of the spectrum, J lives in jeans, tennis shoes and Harley t-shirts on the weekends. I honestly think he owns every Harley T-shirt ever produced. Luckily he looks good in them.
3. Dogs. I really want a small dog, perhaps a Shorkie, Cockapoo or a Labradoodle. J on the other hand wants a “guy” dog, like a German Sheppard or a Lab.
I sent my mom, sisters and J a picture of a Shorkie last week. Here are some of the responses I received from that e-mail:
Mom said “Good. Tell your boyfriend.”
J said “Are you out of your * mind?”
Mairzy called and we talked for about 10 minutes about how cute the dog in the picture was and how we both wanted to buy it ASAP.
Any dog purchase will have to wait at least another year or two. Because of the construction mentioned in my previous post, I can’t easily get to and fro work and home. Once the construction has been completed either in 2009/2010, I can buy a dog, because I’ll have enough time to run home and take it out during lunch. Hopefully J and I will come up with some sort of compromise in the next two years.

We have a pug. Our next dog will be a lab, because Mr. Newlywed wants a big dog. He gave me the pug for a gift after college, and I adore it...but alas, we weren't living together then...we weren't even in the same state. Now he loves the dog, but he wants a dog that can be more active.
I want a puppy too! But like you I don't think we will be able to get one for another year or so. But I can't wait!
YOU NEED THAT DOG - STAT!!!! The heck with contruction - get it anyway!!! :) SOOO cute! Imagine how cute your Christmas card pictures could be with you and that dog in Santa hats! :) Hee hee. Reason enough to buy him/her right there!
