Birthday Club

Four years ago, a group of my friends started Birthday Club. We have four core members (me, A, L & L); however, the club is not exclusive. Through the years, we’ve included other friends and significant others, but for the most part, it’s been the four of us.

For birthday club, we go to Buca during the week of our birthday. I must admit that we all look forward to it, because Buca’s food is delish! If you sign up for Buca’s special offers, you receive many coupons, and more importantly you get a free desert---scrumptious! When the server brings the desert, they like to embarrass the person with the birthday by bringing over a candle opera, and having everyone in the restaurant sing the familiar tune of “Happy Birthday!” Here’s a picture of the scene from last summer (L&L @ Buca):

Last night, we celebrated L’s birthday and we had a great time! The cocktails and food were delectable! During our dinner, we discussed many topics, including; boys, Real Housewives of the O.C., the economy, and the fact that our 30th birthdays are coming up!

I’m the last birthday club member to turn 29 (in July). We’re thinking that for our 30th birthdays, we should kick it up a notch and do some traveling. We mentioned South Beach, Vegas, and other fun destinations. I’m thinking NYC for my top destination. I haven’t been there in forever and would love to hit the pavement and do some shopping and partying with my girlfriends.
