Almost 28

Tomorrow is my 28th birthday. I honestly can’t believe I’m turning 28. Back in the day, I thought “28” was old. When asked the question “where do you see yourself in 10 years from now” back in high-school, I always had the same answer, which was “living in Minnesota with a husband and a couple of kids.” Fast-forward ten years, which brings us to 2008. I’m living in Minnesota, but I’m not married and don’t have any kids.

I wanted to memorialize a few things that happened during the past year.

*I watched one of my sisters (Molly) get married to an amazing person (Matt). It was a wonderful celebration and I don’t know how I’ll ever be able to top her exquisite wedding…it was truly the best and most beautiful wedding I’ve ever been to, and trust me, I’ve been to many!

*I celebrated my 5-year anniversary of working at GC. I have grown so much, but I know I still have a lot to learn.

*I bought my first house! Finally no more living in an icky apartment. I now have tons of space, can be as loud as I want, have my own yard, and my favorite part --- a two car garage!

*After dating many jerks and losers throughout the past several years, I’ve finally met my prince charming, aka J. I really think he should write a book called “how to be the perfect boyfriend” because he truly is.

*I still have great friends. I love my friends and would do anything for them, and I know they’d do anything for me.

*Everyone in my immediate family is healthy which is always good news. I hope God continues to bless us all with good health and good fortune. Speaking of good fortune, I’ll be an aunt in December! I can’t wait to baby-sit and buy cute baby clothes (pink of course)!

In closing, 27 was a crazy year. What I’ve learned is that you can’t really have a plan. Sure, I have goals, but I think it’s best to let life play itself out and to just go with the flow. I can’t wait to see what transpires during my 28th year!
