Parents Meet the Parents

Not too much is new, hence I haven’t been writing. I did go camping over my birthday, which was a great experience! I’ve only been camping one other time in my life, and it was the most horrible experience E.V.E.R. Needless to say, my one previous camping trip left a bad taste in my mouth and made me swear off camping forever, well forever, until last month =)

J asked me to go camping with this entire family to Tomah, Wisconsin. The camp site is called Tunnel Trail, and his family has been going there for many years. I proved my family and friends wrong and actually enjoyed the whole camping experience. I went on a 23-mile bike ride (and didn’t die) and went canoeing down the Kickapoo River. The canoeing had to have been my favorite part because of all the splashing and canoe-tipping that took place. Needless to say, I was soaked by the end of the journey. All in all, it was such a fun time and can’t wait to go again. I’ve posted a picture of me from the entrance into one of the tunnels along the bike tail.

Tonight my parents are meeting J's parents, and tomorrow is my 10-year high school reunion. I can’t wait to see everyone from high school and catch up with them. Some of the girls are going over to Sods’ house beforehand to sip a cocktail or two before the reunion festivities. I like to call it “a little liquid courage.” Should be a fun and crazy night!

As a sidenote, if anyone reads this, please keep my Grandpa Conway in your prayers. He suffered from a collapsed lung earlier in the week. He's 92 years old, but is relatively healthy and is as sharp as a tack. I know he'll bounce back from this.
