Anniversary Party!

So my parents anniversary was a ragging success! My sisters and I had been planning it for several months and I’m happy to report everyone helped and each task was completed.

I was in charge of finding a caterer, and instead of hiring the chef from the country club, I decided to go out on a limb, and hire someone I’ve never heard of. I came up with Chowgirls, which is based out of Minneapolis. The name is a little suspect, but they were AWESOME! The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. If you ever need a caterer and you live in the Twin Cities, I’d highly recommend Chowgirls.

Anyway, back to the actual party. J went to pick my parents up while me, Molly, Mairzy and Annie (my sisters) got everything ready at the house. I must admit my sisters did a fantastic job on setting the table and Molly’s house was sparkling clean.

When my parents arrived to Molly & Matt’s house, they both dropped their jaws in amazement. They still didn’t know what we had planned, but knew something was up! We ended up telling them what we had in store for them…that we hired someone to cook, serve and clean. They couldn’t believe that we could actually pull something like that off and were pleasantly surprised!

After dinner, we had more cocktails and phase II began. Molly thought it would be a fun idea to get a limo and drive around St. Paul. We packed a cooler full of alcoholic beverages (and non-alcoholic beverages for Molls because she’s pregnant) and hit the town. We drove down Summit Ave into down town St. Paul and back up to Grand Ave. We ended up at Bon Fire, aka my old stomping grounds. Bon Fire is a wide open bar /tex/mex restaurant with dueling pianos. We sipped on a couple more cocktails and then headed back home in the limo. All in all it was a wonderful night and I could tell by the expressions on everyone’s faces that a good time was had by all.
