Vacation All I Ever Wanted

It’s frigid up in these parts. Today on my drive into work, I looked at the temperature next to my speedometer. It read “-16!” Okay, it didn’t have the exclamation point, but it should have.

During the drive, I heard the Go Go’s song “Vacation.” It got me thinking about my yearly vacation to beautiful Southwest Florida. In a few months, I’ll be laying on this beach reading New Moon and Stori Telling:

My parents usually rent a condo down in Florida for a month and a half during the Spring. Well, this year, they upgraded to roomier digs and we’ll be staying at this beautiful home located directly on the beach:

I’m sad I’m only going down for 10 days. I wish I could stay the whole month and a half, but that wouldn’t be fair to my other family members. My sisters and I take turns going down there…me one week, M the next week, and so on.

This year, J will be coming down! I’ve warned him that our family vacations are super lax---meaning we sit on the beach all day and read. At night, we either make delicious meals at home or we venture out to one of the local mind-blowing restaurants, like Chops City Grill. Yum!

My Florida trip is something I look forward to all year! Let the countdown begin…
